How do meal and rest periods work?
Non-exempt employees are expected and encouraged to take paid 10-minute rest breaks based on shift length. Rest breaks should not be used to start late, leave early, or extend meals. Employees working more than five hours must be provided an uninterrupted meal period of at least 30 minutes within the first five hours, with additional rules for longer shifts and waivers.

When do I need a doctor's note for absences?
Employees are expected to be in uniform, in position, and ready for work at the beginning of the shift. Absences and lateness must be personally reported, and illness-related absences may require medical documentation.

Is it okay to use my phone?
Personal cell phones should not be used during working hours unless permission is given by the Service Center Manager. They should only be used on unpaid breaks and out of guest view.

When can I apply for company benefits?
Eligible employees are provided a range of benefits, and eligibility depends on employee classification and the terms of each program. Medical insurance is offered to full-time eligible employees beginning the first day of the month after completion of 59 days of employment. Eligible employees may participate in the 401k program after 12 months of continuous service and upon reaching age 21, subject to plan terms.

How much vacation time do I get?
Regular full-time employees do not accrue vacation during the first six months of employment. Starting in the seventh month through completion of the third year, vacation accrues at the equivalent of 5 days per year. After completion of the third year, vacation accrues at the equivalent of 10 days per year. After completion of the tenth year, vacation accrues at the equivalent of 15 days per year. Vacation must generally be scheduled at least one month in advance and approved by management.

What holidays do I get?
After completion of the introductory period, full-time Service Center Managers, Senior Operations Managers, Directors, and Officers receive paid holidays when they fall on a normal workday. The listed paid holidays are New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. To be eligible, employees must work their last scheduled day before the holiday and the first scheduled day after it.

Can I receive college credit for Jiffy Lube training?
The handbook notes that Jiffy Lube University has an alliance with UMUC that can allow employees to earn college credits when courses are successfully completed.

When do I get paid?
Pay periods are bi-weekly and paychecks are handed out every other week. If payday falls on a weekend or holiday, employees are paid on the preceding workday.

When do I get a performance appraisal?
Employees receive periodic performance reviews, but the frequency may vary depending on service, position, duties, and performance history. Reviews do not guarantee raises or promotions.
